Good 'Til the Last Drop
Dogs love organic treats from Olive
12/17/2009 - Melissa Milne
My subjects for this organic dog treat test were our black Lab Ulu and our Leonberger Nali. Neither has ever met a morsel she didn’t love – conventionally edible or otherwise. The girls were happy to help, and together we tested Green Goods for Modern Dogs, made exclusively for Olive by MaSnax Superior Treats.

Licking Their Chops (+)- The treats are available in four flavors and we tested two: Happy Apple Snaps and Nutty Nanners.
- As I didn’t expect they would, the dogs had no flavor preference; there was an equal amount of drool produced for either variety.
- The best part about the treats, besides that they are handmade, is the ingredients. In fact I was tempted to try one myself, as the all natural and organic ingredients are remarkably similar to a certain holiday cookie I make this time of year.
- The dogs seemed to share my sentiment – in fact whenever the bags were out, they tried everything they could to get into them, more so than I’ve ever seen them try to get at Milkbones.
- While I’ve seen our lab finish off everything from table scraps to an entire rubber shoe sole, I felt better giving them these organic dog cookies, knowing that they are made from quality ingredients.
- There are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
- The treats come in transparent, resealable bags so you know what you’re buying and the remaining cookies stay fresh.
- Made in the USA.
Backing Away (-)- The plastc bags the treats come in are not made from recycled materials nor are they recyclable.
The Bottom Line
All in all, these are certainly treats I would buy again. They’re not the meaty flavored treats or generic biscuits you find anywhere else – these are distinctive flavors that just may serve as my own personal backup when my supply of Girl Scout cookies runs low. The treats are available for $8.25 for 7 oz on the Olive website and on Amazon.
